Megan Hopkins has been with Wheatland Title Company since 2015 where she currently serves as General Counsel. As part of her duties as General Counsel, she is underwriting counsel for real estate matters ranging from residential to commercial to right-of-way transactions. Prior to her time at Wheatland, she was in private practice at a small firm in LaSalle County, Illinois. Megan is an alum of North Central College in Naperville, Illinois where she majored in both History and Business Administration. She also graduated with honors from Northern Illinois University College of Law. When she is not providing legal and underwriting guidance, Megan enjoys spending time with her husband and three children.
Martin J. Cann, Area Underwriting Counsel for First American Title Insurance Company. Marty received his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. He received his Juris Doctorate from The Ohio State University and became a member of the Illinois Bar in 1992. He then joined a general practice law firm in Joliet, Illinois. In 1999, he became a title counsel with a national underwriter. In 2005 he joined First American Title Insurance Company. Marty advises attorneys, builders, lenders, staff and agents on diverse title insurance issues across a wide range of real estate transactions. Marty also coordinates the underwriting teams in the development of First American’s Illinois seminars, webinars and other presentations. Marty serves on the Illinois Land Title Associations Title Counsel and Education Committees.
