The distinction between navigable and non-navigable waters is an important one—important enough for the Illinois Supreme Court to issue a landmark opinion on the subject in 2022. In this presentation, Dick Bales will discuss the various aspects of water law and how Illinois water law impacts title examiners in their examination of riparian land.

He received his juris doctorate degree from Northern Illinois University in 1983 and is admitted to practice law in Illinois.
